WHAT IS PORCELAIN ENAMEL ON CAST IRON? Porcelain enamel on cast iron is a bonding of glass melted and fused to the cast iron at high temperatures. This process, involving a heat-resistant frit applied and baked between 1200 and 1400°F, creates a seamless and durable surface. This enamel makes the Dutch Oven heat tolerant and resistant to water and consumables.
EASY TO COOK AND CLEAN: The smooth porcelain interior minimizes sticking, promotes caramelization, and resists staining. While dishwasher safe, hand washing with warm soapy water and a nylon scrub brush is recommended to keep your Dutch Oven in top condition.
